What began as a one-person plumbing operation has grown into a leading commercial service company with a fleet of more than 150 vehicles, a team of over 250 skilled employees and technicians, and 24-hour emergency service every day of the year.

Our Story

In 1976, Frank Gay founded Frank Gay Plumbing as a one-man operation dedicated to serving local businesses and residences with reliable plumbing expertise. Driven by a commitment to quality and growth, the company quickly expanded its capabilities and geographic reach while staying true to its core values: communication, integrity, community, growth, and energy.

These principles continue to guide every decision, from management to field technicians. Today, Frank Gay Commercial serves as a one-stop partner for commercial clients — including apartment communities, condominiums, government facilities, and businesses across multiple industries — delivering exceptional service with time-tested reliability.

Our Milestones

• 1976 — Frank Gay starts Frank Gay Plumbing as its sole employee.
• 1981 — Enters the New Construction market; client base expands rapidly.
• 1989 — Completes La-Gorce Plaza, a 25-story condominium project in Miami Beach.
• 1992 — Moves into a larger headquarters to support exponential growth.
• 1994 — Shifts focus exclusively to service by closing the new construction division.
• 1996 — Named one of Central Florida’s top growing businesses by the Orlando Business Journal.
• 1997 — Remodels Orlando headquarters to accommodate continued expansion.
• 1998 — Launches HVAC and Refrigeration department; rebrands as Frank Gay Plumbing & AC.
• 2000 — Becomes one of the first contractors in Florida to launch a company website.
• 2002 — Opens a new service branch in Tampa, FL.
• 2006 — Begins municipal contract work, servicing county government facilities.
• 2010 — Adds Electrical department; rebrands to Frank Gay Services.
• 2012 — Increases marketing presence with television commercials and billboard campaigns.
• 2013 — Surpasses 100 employees.
• 2017 — Voted #1 service company in Central Florida.
• 2019 — Acquired by Apex Service Partners, which invests in new systems, vehicles, and equipment.
• 2020 — Separates into Frank Gay Residential and Frank Gay Commercial to deliver more focused, personalized service to each customer segment.
• 2024 — Grows team to over 250 employees and technicians.
• 2026 — Celebrates 50 years of service while expanding coverage across South Florida.
